Duke Cannon Supply Co. is an entrepreneurial venture with a focus on premium men's grooming/lifestyle products and sold across a variety of sales channels. With a mission to double our sales every year, we are looking to hire a select group of smart, creative, and fun people to help us crush it.

We are currently seeking applicants for the role of Social Media Manager. The mission is clear: to aggressively build our following of loyal, highly engaged fans. As such, this person will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Duke Cannon community across all social media channels. They must develop an innate understanding of the Duke Cannon voice. This person will not just post stuff and react to comments; they will also be expected to conceive new ideas of building our loyal fan base, working with our creative team and external partners to develop dynamic content.  At the core, we need an incredibly creative marketer who happens to be well adept at social media execution.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Social Care and Listening: On a timely basis, the SSM will engage with consumers who have posted comments and questions, ensuring a consistent and positive brand voice. SSM will execute proactive engagement across like-minded brands and platforms to capture new fans. They will be on top of cultural trends in order to deliver timely, relevant content.
  • Content and Social Strategy: The SSM will play a strong role in recommending campaign ideas that help build an effective year-long content calendar. They will also make data-driven recommendations on which platforms/targets to prioritize. They will have an innate understanding of the different social media platforms and understand how to curate content specific to each channel. They must maintain a pulse on what's happening in the social media and digital space.
  • Content Creation and Execution: The perfect candidate can conceive static and video content and work with our design team and external resources to execute. They will build and maintain a content calendar that achieves our engagement goals.
  • Strategic Partnerships, Promotion Execution, and Influencer Management: The SSM will put together a strategy to partner with like-minded brands to execute consumer promotions that grow our fan base and brand affinity. They will cultivate and manage a community of influencers and affiliate marketers to build awareness and sales of the Duke Cannon brand.
  • Analytics and Reporting: The SSM will track and report on key social metrics for both Duke Cannon and competitive brands. The SSM will also provide reports and recommendations to the management team to improve consumer engagement.
  • Additionally, the candidate may be asked to attend semi-annual trade shows where we interface with our large network of retail customers. So, we are also looking for a person with an easy-going personality who's not afraid to be in front of customers.


Skills and Qualifications

This job is for rock stars only. Please note that simply having personal social media accounts does not qualify one for this role. The best candidates will have significant experience managing a company's social media strategy and execution. Additionally, you must have a passion/desire to work in a highly dynamic, fast growing, entrepreneurial environment. The hours are long and intense, but incredibly rewarding.   • Social Media Success: At least 3-4+ years with proven results in developing and managing social media campaigns for a medium to large company. Must have expertise across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. Ideally, they have experience with 3rd party social media tools like Hootsuite. They must also possess solid understanding of social media marketing metrics.
  • Creativity: The candidate should provide examples of content (photos, video, social posts, etc., campaign ideas). Proficiency at copywriting and communication must also be demonstrated. An ability to take on the voice of a brand is critical.
  • Self-Starter: As the candidate will often be working independently in a lean and dynamic environment, they must strive to find ways to consistently add value to the organization without waiting for the next direction.
  • Resourceful: An entrepreneur must be scrappy; that is, they must be able to accomplish his objectives with fewer resources and help one might find in a large company. They must find new and creative ways to achieve their goals.
  • A 4 year Bachelor's Degree with preference given to degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Design.

Reporting Structure and Company Location

Duke Cannon Supply Co. is located in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, steps from Target Field, and tons of restaurants and bars. This person will report directly to the VP of Marketing/Co-Founder, but will also work closely with the other members of the creative team.

Salary and Benefits

Duke Cannon offers a competitive market salary plus insurance benefits commensurate with experience. Bonus eligibility starts after six months of employment.  Because of our rapid growth, bonus payouts have typically exceeded base expectations.
